Checklist -- Things a student needs to do successfully to use Blackboard:

Network Tasks

-         Use ACSIS to

§         discover username and password

§         get timetable

§         confirm email address

§         make elective selection

-         Log in to College network from an access lab

-         Log in to the College network using dialup

-         Check College email (regularly)

-         Configure home/work machine to log in to College network and email

-         Send email with attachment to instructor

-         Use N Drive to save/backup materials

-         Forward email or set preferred email

Checklist – Things Departments and Deans need to do to ensure their programs can successfully use Blackboard:

-         Lead process to integrate online learning into program

-         Designate Online Learning Resource Person within Department

-         Send designate to Blackboard Training (2 hours) during week of 12 August

-         Communicate Blackboard orientation/support information to departmental faculty and support staff

-         Create Acrobat .pdf (version 5.0) copies of approved course outlines and distribute to faculty

-         Organize Blackboard Orientation for Students (by Program)

-         Organize Program-based online general education orientation

-         Ensure all teachers (full and part-time) have Network Access (completed network access forms sent to ITS)

-         Send written notification to Registrar’s Office of changes to original course loading (particularly new teachers)

-         Use Blackboard Log-in Troubleshooting Chart
