How to copy and print the Blackboard Gradebook

As you put more items in the gradebook, the page becomes so wide that it is difficult to work with in the browser and difficult to print.

While we are expecting gradebook improvements in the new version of Blackboard, for the moment the best way to copy and print the Blackboard Gradebook is by copying the gradebook into Excel, as follows:

To Copy the Gradebook:

  1. Open the Gradebook in Spreadsheet view.
  2. Select all (by dragging or by using Control - A)
  3. Copy (using Copy from the Edit Menu or Control - C)
  4. Open an Excel Spreadsheet
  5. Paste the copied material into Excel (using Paste from the Edit Menu or Control-V).
  6. Delete any graphics or redundant information that you do not want in Excel
  7. Save your excel spreadsheet.

This approach brings the raw data over, including the weighted percentages but does not include any formulae, which you will need to recreate.

The approach recommended by Blackboard (Exporting a .csv) exports incorrect values in the weighted percentages column.
