Using Algonquin Email

How can I check my Algonquin email from any computer?

You need the information you receive in your Algonquin email to ensure your success here at the College-- so it is essential that this problem be solved without delay. For this reason, Course Outline Directive E33 makes it a requirement for students to read their Algonquin email in a timely fashion.

Before you make changes to your email address, you should be aware of the following:

• Many teachers will only accept email and attachments from an Algonquin address and they will respond only to that address.
• Official information about your Blackboard account will be sent to your Algonquin address or to the preferred address you have set in ACSIS
• Information and updates about your Algonquin Network Account is sent to your Algonquin email address
• If you are in a laptop program, information about your laptop will be sent to your Algonquin address or to the preferred address you have set in ACSIS
• Many web-mail providers do not accept attachments. If your teacher wishes to send information in attachments, you must ensure that you can receive them.

You can use ACSIS http://acsis.algonquincollege.com to set a preferred email address or use mail forwarding at http://www.algonquincollege.com/email However, you are responsible for making sure that you read and respond appropriately to college email messages.

If you want to use webmail…

We recommend that you use mail2web (http://www.mail2web.com)  to check your Algonquin email through the web.  This free service has all the features of hotmail or yahoo mail, but reads your Algonquin College email account.

Using mail2web you can send and receive email and attachments through the web, from any computer, but using your Algonquin account.  (You can also use mail2web to check your other email accounts!)
