What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is a server-based course management system that allows teachers and students to communicate about their coursework. It is a private learning space -- only people with Algonquin usernames who are registered in the course can participate in Blackboard courses -- that enables 

• posting of announcements, notes and assignments
• submission and return of assignments
• linking to resources on the Internet
• online tests, quizzes and surveys
• online discussion groups
• private group discussion and project work
• online chat
