Developing a Web site with FrontPage, points to consider

  1. Decide on the purpose of your site. Web sites are used for:
    1. information
    2. communication
    3. entertainment
    4. marketing
  2. Place the most important info on your Home Page
  3. Use linked pages for less important, supplementary info
  4. Include a last updated line on your Home Page and, if needed, on other pages
  5. Include an e-mail link for site visitors to contact you
  6. Some FrontPage features require FrontPage server extensions; be aware
  7. Refer to http://www.algonquincollege.com/lrc/search/evaluate.html for website guidelines
  8. Make sure you have an account where you can publish your Web; you'll need:
    1. the server address, usually beginning ftp://
    2. the destination folder, often public_html
    3. your user name
    4. your password
  9. Download and save an independent FTP program as backup
