Lab assignments– Linc 5 Prebridging

Week #1
  • Complete first editing exercise from blue hyperlink.  I'll will supply paper.
  • Open an e-mail account
  • Don't forget to sign up for conversation in the MMLC
  • Search the MMLC under writing for sites which talk about the Topic Sentence and Brainstorming techniques.
  • Review Focus On Grammar, High Intermediate, part 5 for Friday test
  • On desktop, go to Steps-1 Writing Program and study the writing process from ' Begin the Lesson'
  • All writing assignments: double spaced; typed; chapter,page and exercise information; and don't forget your name.

Week #2

  • Complete the first page  of the  Commonly Confused Words exercise. 
  • Under writing on the MMLC site, search for the three-part paragraph or go to http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/general/gl_pgrph2.html 
  • Review Focus On Grammar(FOG), High Intermediate(H I), part 4 for Friday test
  • Go to the MMLC page, to Writing and review 'Tips-O-Matic' site for the sentence and the paragraph
  • Starting here, all writing assignments must have a brainstorm, an outline, a rough edited copy and a final copy.

Week #3

  • Complete the plural exercise.  Look at this: www.english-zone.com/spelling/plurals.html  It'll help!
  • Complete the second page  of the Commonly Confused Words exercise.
  • Go to www.manythings.org, go to site menu and select listening room and listen to 'Arkansas Traveler.'  Don't forget your earphones!  Good Luck!  This is an interesting site for 'ESL stuff' such as proverbs and slang.
  • Again, under the MMLC/ writing, look for the opinion essay.
  • Review FOG, HI, part 7 for Friday test
  • Look for Brainstorming sites for preparing to write

  • Compare and contrast essays can be found on our MMLC

  • Present resume and cover letter
