| Feedback for "Was I Accurate?"
If you refer to section 2.2 Identifying learning disabilities, you will recall reading about the exclusion factor. In other words, it is important to make sure that a persons learning difficulty is not related to some other condition such as a hearing problem, visual acuity, or emotional factors. In the list of behaviours you have just read "squinting eyes when reading" could be the result of poor vision, "loud speech, poor enunciation" could be the result of hearing loss and "withdrawn or disoriented behaviour" and "high degree of hostility or anger" could be a result of emotional problems. Problems in these areas are not considered learning disabilities. You are now ready to begin Unit 3! |
