Review Questions Online

All reviews are posted in the Assignments folder on Bb. Simply click on a review to take it, and have the grade entered for you automatically. As these are worth (in total) 15% of your mark, it is important to do them! You may take each review as often as you wish, and the latest mark only will be kept. Reviews will remain available until the time of the Final Exam. When redoing a quiz for review, do not exit without ‘Submit’, as this will result in a ‘lock’ showing as your grade, which will be counted a zero score.

Since these reviews are unsupervised, there are many ways to get good marks without really learning the material. However, keep in mind that you will be writing supervised, time limited tests based on these reviews that are worth 50% of your mark (with no helps available but your well-trained mind!), and that you must average a pass on these tests to pass the course. The Mini-Test, Mid-Term and Final will have questions on the same subjects as these reviews (no surprises), but the questions will not be identical. It is thus important to master the subject matter of each question, not just memorize answers.

Here is a suggested strategy to get the most out of these reviews, based on your prof’s extensive experience with such tools (as a recent student as well as a teacher!):

- study the text and your lecture notes, and write the test ‘closed book’.

- note the subject area of any question you got wrong, and restudy that area, using slides and/or text. Page numbers in text are provided for each question, to help in this. Do not simply memorize the correct answer!. You might also like to ask your prof to review the subject area in the Discussion Board, in Q&A time in class, or in a consulting time in his office.

- retake the test, still ‘closed book’, ensuring that you understand each of the options, not just the ‘right’ one

- repeat this process till you get 100%.
