The Ontario Physical and Health Education Association  presents great ideas for recreational activities while promoting health. It is very easy to navigate and the free registration is very user friendly.

Life Skills for Vocational Success is an interesting site that provides many lesson plans to teach people life skills.

This is the National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps. It is an American site and is a reference for up to 50 camps. You will find a job board and contact information for all the agencies.

This is an Excellent Site!!! It has so many pages of information. Of interest to both CYW students and professionals. You will find great links and good programming ideas and activities.Full of information!

This website is a great resource. It is "Canada’s supersite for the non-profit sector". It includes a great job listing, funding resources, research and program information, etc.

This site is excellent. It is the International Child and Youth Care Network online magazine site. It includes a job board, a discussion listserv, relevant information for the field, journals, etc.

Family Resources website. This website encompases many facets of the family. It addresses a wide spectrum of topics ranging from family lawwomanonstac2.jpg (7740 bytes) to fitness and proper childcare. It is current and updated, and provides information for both individuals and organizations. Gives templates for policies and procedures, in regards to topics such as health and safety. This site also fosters information on coping with disaster and how to help child victims.

Social psychology website. Maintained by Wesleyan University. This site offers more then 5,000 links to psychology related resources, such as subject areas, online psychology studies, student discussion forums and partner sites. Great for expanding classnotes or finding answers to questions.

United Nations Website:this site informs readers on children's issues, human rights, population problems  and current news.

Interesting site  focusing on residential care in the U.S. Good directory of American residential facilities

This site gives a summary of necessary infomation on  the Young Offenders Act. Includes  the role of a Youth worker within the Y.O.A.

Fifty Canadian non-profit organizations have come together under the banner of Child & Family Canada to provide quality, credible resources on children and families on an easy-to-navigate website. This is the perfect site to use when planning your programming study or when you are programming in your field placements/jobs. This "tailored to your needs" program tool helps clients with both problem solving skills  and basic computer skill development  A number of different levels and puzzles to use and enjoy.

New Brunswick:
Department of Family and Children’s Services for New Brunswick. Very valuable information if you are interested in relocating to New Brunswick and would like to know what opportunities exist there in the CYW field.

Nova Scotia:
Services and programs available to families and communities, job opportunities. Links are organized into 18 categories, etc.

Prince Edward Island:
The Child and Family Services Division of the Health and Community Services Department for PEI. Lists programs and services offered throughout the province including province wide job opportunities.

Newfoundland:
The Youth Services website for the Government of Newfoundland. Includes information for both professionals and youth/parents. An incredible list of internal and external youth programs in Newfoundland. Resource and contact information provided.

newcyw.gif (1561 bytes) Youth Advocate Program International is a non-profit organization originating from Washington, D.C.This agency "promotes and protects the rights and well-being of the world’s youth, giving particular attention to children victimized by conflict, exploitation, and state and personal violence." This site contains a wealth of knowledge, resources and career opportunities.

newcyw.gif (1561 bytes) KidsPeace is a U.S. non-profit organization that assists children and youth in crisis within residential, community, juvenile justice and other areas.  There are also job postings for available work in the U.S.

newcyw.gif (1561 bytes) The Nations Network of Child Care Resources and Referral is a site that has a wide range of resources that would be useful to a CYW. Also includes  a section that covers career paths available across the United States from Pearl River, NY to San Francisco.

The Child Care Bureau is dedicated to enhancing the quality, affordability, and availability of childcare for all families. The Child Care Bureau administers federal funds to states, territories, and tribes to assist low-income families in accessing quality childcare for children when the parents work or participate in education or training.

Child Protect is the Montgomery Alabama Area Children's Advocacy Centre and is the only agency that provides investigative services of children suspected to be victims of child abuse. Child Protect provides a child-friendly environment where children can talk about sexual andbookassort12.jpg (11954 bytes) physical abuse. The agency also provides support for children that have to testify in court. Child Protect also works to coordinate investigations with the Department of Human Resources, law enforcement, medical doctors and the District Attorney's Office. The agency provides counselling for children at the request of these agencies.

American Indian Child Resource Centre is a non-profit social service and education agency serving American Indian children and their families. Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors with Native members who are sensitive to the issues facing Indian families, AICRC has thrived for over 27 years in Oakland with services in ten counties of the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Barnardos is a very large agency providing child protection, group homes, child and family services. They are a recruitment agency for the UK.
