We do Orientation activities during week one.  This is the schedule that we follow...not the one from the Registrar's office.

Monday August 25

Algonquin College 12-2 p.m. (Students with last names A-M)
2-4 p.m.
(Students with last names N-Z)
P303 Logging into Algonquin College computer network and introduction to Blackboard system
Tuesday August 26

(optional activity)

Algonquin College 11 a.m.-

1:00 p.m.

  Free pizza lunch in C Building Courtyard with Band and activities by Orientation Committee.

SSW staff and 2nd year SSW students are having a fund raising silent auction in the

C Building Courtyard

Tuesday August 26 evening (optional activity) Ottawa River 7:30 p.m.-

10:30 p.m.

  Social Service Worker Programs Boat Cruise.

Cash bar, DJ.

Musical entertainment by Blues Singer Missy Burgess

(See enclosed sign up sheet if interested)

Wednesday August 27

(mandatory activity)

HMCS Carleton Building near Dow's Lake

Map will be provided

9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.   Orientation Day

(SSW and SSW Intensive Program Students)

-Team building activities

- guest speakers (second year students and graduates of the programs)

Thursday August 28

(mandatory activity)

Local Social Service Agencies

(maps will be provided)

9:00 a.m.-

11:00 a.m.

  Agency presentations.

Need to bring:

1. Pair of socks

(new or gently used)

2. Canned or non perishable food item

Friday August 29 off      
Monday September 1 Labour Day Holiday no school      
classes begin as scheduled
