·        Choose item to sell & discuss potential product

9:35am – 9:55am

Brainstorming & concept mapping presentation – Jennifer

9:55am – 10:30am

In teams (with mentors):

·        Use brainstorming to define product

·        Decide on a creative name for the product

Use Powerpoint to build the first page of your Web presentation:

·        At this point, show team name and product name

·        Be as creative as you like in choice of background, font, etc.

·        Save the file as a web page called default.htm

Use Internet Explorer to upload your work to the web server

·        Ensure passive FTP is not checked in your browser

·        Logon to server at ftp://algonquinstudents.com

·        Userid is groupnn@algstudent where nn  is your team number

·        Password will be provided by your mentor

·        Upload the default.htm file and the associated default_files folder to the folder called wwwroot on the server, via ‘drag and drop’

Check that your page is visible to the world:

Web marketing presentation - tips and hints - Chris

10:50am – 11:45am

Use brainstorming, web research, etc to plan:

·        USP’s, target market, logo, price, marketing strategies, etc.

·        Add graphics, spreadsheets, prices, pictures, video, etc. to your presentation

·        Upload your updated presentation to your website

11:45am – 12:30pm

LUNCH – pick up food in the Gym and come back to B166

12:30pm – 1:15pm

In teams:

·        Finalize presentation and upload final version to website

·        Plan and rehearse presentation to ‘sell’ web marketing idea to ‘investors’

1:15pm – 2:00pm

Team presentations 10,13,12,11 – 10 minutes per team

2:00pm – 2:40pm

Judging, Award ceremony & Question period

2:45pm

Departure – Student mentors to escort participants back to the Gym
