WRITING PIECE #1

Here is your first piece of writing.  Use an appropriate format and organizational strategy.

READ THE ASSIGNMENT CAREFULLY!

You are the manager of a marketing company (invent a name, address, etc.), and you want to order some items from, an office supply catalogue.  But your catalogue is one year old, and you have lost the order form that is usually used to request items from this company, so you decide to write a letter.  Rather than write to ask for a new catalogue, you decide to take a chance and order the items from the old catalogue even though you realize that the prices may have changed in the last year.

You want three Panasonic electric pencil sharpeners, Item 22-A, at $19.95 each.  You also want one steel desktop organizer, 60 inches long, Item No. 23-K.  Its price is $117.50.  Order two Roll-a-Flex files for 2-by-4-inch cards at $14.50 each.  This is item 23-G.  The next item you want is No. 29-H, file folders, a box of 100, letter size, at $5.29.  You need ten boxes of them.  You would like to be invoiced for this purchase, and you would prefer over-night courier delivery.  Even though the you realize that the prices may have changed in the last year, you decide to list the prices shown in your catalogue so that you will have an idea what the total order will cost.

Write an order letter to Monarch Discount Office Furniture, 2890 Monarch Road, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1K 1L6. 

Use an appropriate letter format.  Create a letterhead for your company.
