SENTENCE FRAGMENTS

Understanding (and avoiding!) sentence fragments is dead easy (if you can distinguish main clauses, subordinate clause and phrases, that is). The first thing to note is this that
| Sentence fragments are bad! They are considered major grammatical errors!

We know that all sentence must have at least one main clause to be complete. Therefore,
| ERROR | EXAMPLE |
| FRAG | As I ate chicken curry. (no main clause) |
| FRAG | Because I will eat chicken curry for dinner.(no main clause) |
| FRAG | Along the road and up the hill.(no main clause) |
| FRAG | Since you want to be my favorite class, and if you give me money. (no main clause) |
