VERBS

There are two kinds of verbs: action verbs and non-action verbs.  Study this page, then try the Verb Exercise.

1.  Action Verbs

Action verbs include words such as run, jump, love, and sing.  They may be conjugated into past, present, future (and other) tenses.

EXCEPTIONS

2.  Non-Action Verbs

Non-action verbs are called copula verbs.  Knowing the word copula is not important, but being able to recognize them is.  There are only two non-action verbs.  They are conjugations of the words as be and have.  Like action verbs, they may be conjugated into past, present, future (and other) tenses.
